The Christian Life—Part 1

Numerous Scripture passage describe what the attitude of the believer should be in the various circumstances of life. The second part of this article presents a topical list of a number of such passages. Two passages that outline the correct attitude of the believer are as follows.

(1Th 5:14) Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
(1Th 5:15) See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
(1Th 5:16) Rejoice evermore.
(1Th 5:17) Pray without ceasing.
(1Th 5:18) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(1Th 5:19) Quench not the Spirit.
(1Th 5:20) Despise not prophesyings.
(1Th 5:21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
(1Th 5:22) Abstain from all appearance of evil.
(1Th 5:23) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1Th 5:24) Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
(1Th 5:25) Brethren, pray for us.
(1Th 5:26) Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
(1Th 5:27) I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
(1Th 5:28) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

(Ro 12:9)EMTV Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
(Ro 12:10) Be warmly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another;
(Ro 12:11) not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
(Ro 12:12) rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
(Ro 12:13) sharing in the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.
(Ro 12:14) Bless those that persecute you; bless and do not curse.
(Ro 12:15) Rejoice with those that rejoice, and weep with those that weep.
(Ro 12:16) Be of the same mind toward one another. Not minding the high things, but associating with the humble. Do not become wise in your own opinion.
(Ro 12:17) Repay no one evil for evil; providing that which is good before all men.
(Ro 12:18) If possible, as much as depends on you, keeping peace with all men.
