On Psalm 34

(Psa 34:1) I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
(Psa 34:2) My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
(Psa 34:3) O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

(1Pe 2:9)EMTV But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellent virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

(1Co 6:20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

(Psa 34:4)ESV I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.

(Psa 145:18) The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

(Psa 34:5) They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
(Psa 34:6) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
(Psa 34:7) The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

(Joh 14:23) ... If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

(Psa 34:8) O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

The Hebrew word for "trusteth" is also translated "takes refuge".

(Psa 34:9) O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

(Psa 84:11) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

(1Jn 3:21) Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
(1Jn 3:22) And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

(Joh 14:13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

(Psa 34:10) The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

When used figuratively, the Hebrew word for "young lions" describes some who are powerful and devour men (Eze 19:3,6). It is applied to evildoers (Job 4:10) who are enemies of believers (Ps 17:12, 35:17, 58:6, 91:13). The word is applied to enemies of Israel in Jer 2:15 and Nah 2:11,13. It is also applied to some nobles and bad kings of Judah (Eze 19:1-6).

In Ps 34:10 we read that even those who are very powerful and oppress are not satisfied. In contrast, those who seek the LORD are satisfied.

(Joh 6:35) And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

(Psa 34:11) Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
(Psa 34:12) What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
(Psa 34:13) Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
(Psa 34:14) Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

(Rom 14:23) ... whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

(Psa 34:15) The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
(Psa 34:16) The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
(Psa 34:17) The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

In Ps 34:17, words for "The righteous" are not present in Hebrew. If literally translated, the beginning of Psa 34:17 says "They cry, and the LORD heareth ... ". If one who has done evil will turn to God and cry to him, God will forgive him and deliver him. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom 10:13).

(Psa 34:18) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

The Hebrew word for "contrite" could also be translated "crushed".

(Luk 4:18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

(Psa 34:19) Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

In the Scriptures we do not read only that "many are the afflictions of the righteous" but also that "many sorrows shall be to the wicked" (Ps 32:10). However, there is hope for the righteous, for the Lord will deliver them and surround them with kindness.

(Psa 32:10) Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

(Psa 34:20) He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

(Psa 34:21)NKJVTM  Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
(Psa 34:22) The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

(Rom 8:1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
